The stress response is a process. First, our bodies create an alarm and then we start to adapt. If we don’t change the situation, we’re going to fatigue and the last stage is death. We experience symptoms and disease through the alarm and adaptation stages. Our bodies are doing the best it can to survive the short-term so it hopes that we will change our environment. If we do change the environment, our bodies go back to balance. If we don’t, it continues to fatigue until it can’t survive anymore.
Join Dr. John and Dr. Zach as they discuss the stress response and why under chronic stress, our bodies tend to gain weight.
